Late-life (>75y) attenuation of CMV memory inflation (Coplen et al. 2024, J Immunol) suggests a non-monotonic CMV×age interaction: CMV-driven CD8 expansion may plateau or contract in the oldest age strata, complicating decade-binned models that assume monotonic CMV confounding across the lifespan.
