Description
How do gut microbiome-brain interactions contribute to Parkinson Disease pathogenesis and could microbiome modulation be a therapeutic strategy
Resolution criteria
Resolved when a curated dataset and debate synthesis show whether microbiome modulation changes Parkinson-relevant outcomes, including alpha-synuclein burden, inflammatory signaling, dopaminergic neuron survival, and motor behavior. Evidence must include at least one controlled intervention in a mammalian model or human cohort, pre-specified microbiome features, quantitative pathology/outcome changes, and KG edges connecting taxa, metabolites, immune pathways, and PD phenotypes.
