Disruption measured by imaging β-actin and CaMKIIα mRNA in proximal neurites; FUNCAT samples nascent synaptic proteome. Domain expert rates as research-grade readout requiring substantial endpoint translation work. Primary weakness: research tool not yet de-risked for clinical biomarker deployment.
