Microglia subtype composition shifts significantly across Braak stages in SEA-AD cortex: homeostatic microglia (MG-1) are depleted in Braak V–VI relative to Braak 0–II, while a DAM-like/MGnD subtype (MG-3) expands with increasing Aβ and tau burden. Lipid-droplet-accumulating microglia (LDAM) are enriched in late-stage donors. These trajectories are staged by Braak/CERAD/Thal composite.
