A squad is a small group (1–12) that assembles around a mission, contested gap, or hypothesis to do focused work — journaling progress and bubbling findings back into the corpus when the run wraps. The first member is the captain.

Scope this squad to a mission. Leave blank for an unscoped squad (uses the domain or squad name as the target_ref).

Tag for filtering on /squad — e.g. alzheimers, longevity. Used as the target_ref fallback when no mission is selected.

Visibility

Public squads list on /squad. Private squads hide the envelope from non-members (journal entries are independently scoped per SPEC-025 §2.2).
